Essential Oils for whooping cough
Whooping cough, or pertussis, is a bacterial infection that causes cold-like symptoms, followed by severe coughing fits.
Primary recommendation: oregano essential oil
For children and infants, please note the following important information regarding the dilution:
When using essential oils on children and infants, it is always best to dilute the pure essential oil with a carrier oil (e.g. fractionated coconut oil . For older children, dilute 1 - 2 drops essential oil in 1/2 - 1 tsp. of carrier oil. For newborns and infants, dilute 1 - 2 drops in 2 Tbs. of carrier oil. If the oils are used in a bath, always use a bath gel base as a dispersing agent for the essential oils.
Use & Application:
Topical Application (i.e. on the skin): Dilute the oils as described above, and apply on chest, neck, back and reflex points on the feet. You can also add 1 - 2 drops to 1 quart warm water, and use water for a sponge bath.
Aromatically Application (i.e. diffused in the air): Diffuse into the air. Diffuse other antiviral oils such as lemon as well.
